Hello!
I’m a virgo sun/pisces rising/gemini moon who is turning 50 next month. After a fairly debauched youth, I kinda stopped trying for a relationship a few years ago. I’ve had a few since because you know, men be men, (I’m a cis straight lady), but it has been my experience that most of the men in my age range (40-60??) have done no inner work and are like giant babies. I cannot date a baby, alas, I have tried. Anyway, can you help me get over myself and get under some good dudes? Should I just go young young and not look back? Should I look outside of LA, and if so, how does one do that?
Anyway, you guys are the best, I love you.
Thanks,
A Curious Virgo
Dear Curious Virgo,
Well, one thing you shouldn’t do is give up! So we’re glad you wrote us. It probably is safe to say that very few of us do the “inner work” regardless of gender (though of course we should and it sounds like you have). This has always made dating feel somewhat impossible. But since you have, and know who you are, there’s definitely something liberating in approaching dating in a more care-free way. If you’ve given yourself what you need, it’s easier not to put that all on a partner. And it sounds like what you need is a good time. That’s certainly what your Gemini moon would love.
Virgos expect a lot from their romantic partners because they give a lot. They also like a script. A 5 year plan, a 10 year plan—knowing exactly what they will be getting for what they are investing. You sound freed from that, which is a good thing, as this can be very crippling with many Virgos.
Your Pisces rising and Gemini moon are quite whimsical and adventurous. Don’t even think about age at all! Meaning, sure, why not go younger…but don’t think of it as younger. Think of it as following your bliss. Allowing yourself the opportunity for pleasure. Being open and a little wild.
Virgos love meeting people within structured environments. Work aside—go to a new yoga class, or take up some weird activity you’ve always wondered about (Rock climbing? Painting? A running club?). Meeting new people always multiplies. New friends introduce you to more new friends. Since LA is so neighborhood based, and people don’t travel too much outside their comfort zone, our advice is to also go to new places in new parts of town! You can also set your settings on apps to include different cities (Raya does this automatically actually, not sure about others).
Instagram DMs seem to be the dating app most people use to be honest. Let loose after a glass of wine and take big swings. What’s the worst that can happen? Tap into your Gemini spontaneity and forget about the past or the future (hard for a Virgo). Just see what happens when you play it fast and loose. All you risk is a good time.
Love,

Hello!
I have been a subscriber for a while and love it here! I am wondering what is happening directly in my love life and also career? And who the best match may be. I seem to be attracting a lot of Aquarius lately (and I’m always curious about them too) but they have been having commitment issues when it comes to longer term.....
Virgo Sun, Libra Moon, Cancer Rising, Libra Venus, Libra Mercury, Virgo Mars
Thank you,
Another Virgo
Dear Virgo,
We love all you Virgos who have come out during Virgo season!
Virgo love life is going to take an interesting turn on September 10 when Venus enters Scorpio. Since your Venus is in Libra (always flirty), for you this means some opportunities to form a connection on a deeper level (something more long term). First you must be honest with yourself and ask exactly for what you want. Make a list of things that have happened in the past that you never want to repeat romantically, and a new list of things that have never happened that you most certainly want to happen for you.
Venus in Scorpio has witchy energy. Manifesting in this time is very strong. Take your NEVER AGAIN list and burn it in your sink. Make sure to watch it burn and repeat one thing from the list out loud, saying that you’re done with it. Your list of NEW THINGS should be folded into a triangle and taken with you, on your person, for at least 9 days. In a pocket, or in a bra, or in wallet you have on you. After nine days set the triangle on your night stand or use it as a bookmark in a book (that you ideally also keep on your nightstand).
The best matches for Virgos in love are Capricorns and often Leos and sometimes Aquarians. Your Venus in Libra is what draws you to Aquarian energy. You may love the nonchalant, slightly aloof vibe of Aquarians. The truth is, you’re better with an Earth (Taurus, Virgo Capricorn) or Fire Sign (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius). Aquarians need a lot of running after and then one isn’t really sure they will stay.
It’s a beautiful time for you coming up! Make your lists and manifest!
Love,
The Astro Poets
